Lighting

Proper lighting really enhances the pleasure you get out of your property. Recessed lighting can provide a warm and inviting environment to an otherwise badly lit room. Interior lighting options are endless! Outside, an appropriately lit driveway with delightfully enlightened landscaping and trees bring your property features into instant spotlight. After the sun fades, professionally installed illuminations will be the talk of your neighbors! Simple accessories like lighting add a lifetime of enjoyment to your property.

Lighting can also protect you and your property through the proper installation and use of flood lighting and infrared motion sensor lighting that turn on when a person is near. Also from dusk-till-dawn lighting utilizing photovoltaic cells offer a carefree way to light areas throughout the night shutting off automatically at daybreak. When you are ready to add a ceiling fan or replace the light fixture with a fan/light combo...

Call KNG Electrical Services - your ceiling fan installation experts!

We offer safe, sincere and dependable ceiling fan service and installation. Each ceiling fan we install will add aesthetic value and quality of life distinctiveness to your interior. Aside from the visually appealing aspects of adding a ceiling fan, they are a sensible fixture and make for a practical investment. Their feasibility is recognized in the cyclic settings, a summer and winter control situated on the base of the ceiling fan housing. The summer setting draws cooler air in the room up to provide you the benefit of lowering room temperatures by re-circulating the cooler air that settles near the floor. The winter setting forces the higher temperature air that rises to the ceiling down into the lower portions of the room thus assisting in providing the maximum use and economy of your heating system.

KNG Electrical ceiling fan installations typically include:

  • * Verification of the installation location and any special considerations (switches/dimmers, etc) with you.
  • * Preparing the work area by protecting your property and its contents from damage.
  • * Validate the circuit breaker and ceiling mount is the correct type and size for the ceiling fan unit installation.
  • * Remove any existing fan or light fixture at no extra charge.
  • * Verify box-wiring is compliance with local municipalities having jurisdiction and the National Electrical Code.

Exhaust Fans for the Attic and the Entire House

KNG Electrical installs and services floor mounted and gable mounted exhaust fans for your attic or your entire house.

Floor mounted exhaust fans for the attic and entire house are placed on your attic floor to systematically draw air outside utilizing the outside vents (as seen on the outside of a home's composition).  Floor mounted exhaust fans are more commonly used due to their convenience of installation allowing some willing home owners having a little construction knowledge and skill to undertake the installation required themselves.  However climbing into you attic does require a certain amount of dexterity, which is why floor mounted exhaust fan installation should be done with the help of another person who can pass you tools, help with applying light to the work area and most importantly keeping you company!

Gable mounted exhaust fans last longer and require much less of your attention and maintenance but usually cost more to purchase and install.  Gable mounted attic and entire house exhaust fans installations require the scaling of ladders to reach the gable where carpentry applications of sawing through the outside wall of the attic to install an additional louver above or beside the existing one is necessary. The installation height of this new louver should be close to the gable's peak to make certain suitable entire house ventilation is accomplished. Gable mounted attic and entire house exhaust fans are quieter than their floor mounted counterpart because these exhaust fans are installed further away and off of the attic floor causing less vibration.  Also gable mounted attic and entire house exhaust fans are not as limiting because the fan’s exhaust hole is cut to the size of the fan. Gable mounted attic and entire house exhaust fans are also more efficient than floor mounted attic or entire house fans.

Either fan of your choosing will cool and circulate the air in your house by pulling the air from the lower parts of the house up to the attic and through to the outside.

Proper sizing is necessary to ensure you are receiving the most efficient attic or entire house fan for your property.  The ideal air exchange rate of 3 minutes is standard. This means all air in your house is replaced each three minutes your exhaust fan is on.

To properly size the exhaust fan required to fit your needs, first calculate the total volume of each room you plan to ventilate in cubic feet. This is accomplished by multiplying the length by the width by the height of each room.  Example: a 12’x 10’ room with an 8’ ceiling height would be 960 cubic feet. So add up each room's volume not forgetting to include hallways and staircases and then divide by 3 to be sure the fan will exchange air every three minutes.

To guarantee your attic will permit the volume of air to move outside, use your original cubic feet number derived in your first calculation and divide it by 750 to arrive at the most efficient attic vent area necessary for maximum efficiency.  Next, measure the size of your attic vents. If you have two 2’x 3’ gable vents, you have a total of 6’ of venting. You then deduct 25% of vent area for every screened vent.
